Testimony from Our real bride Maddie

1. How did you meet your husband? Tell us a little about your relationship.
– I met my husband in college at a tailgate for a football game. He already knew who I was through a mutual friend, and began to arrange “elevator run-ins” between us, as we lived at the same apartment complex. He finally asked me on our first date a few months later.
– As far as our relationship goes, we both make each other laugh all the time. He is the more logical realist and I’m the illogical dreamer, so it’s a good balance. If he was answering these questions, he would answer in one sentence vs my paragraphs. We have been together for 6 years, and we know everything about each other- how to cheer each other up and how to press each other’s buttons. No relationship is perfect, but we have both agree that during the times arguments arise, 90% of the time we are just hungry and trying to pick a restaurant😂
2. How did he propose?
On Christmas Day 2018, Chris proposed to me during his family vacation in Vail, Colorado. He had been planning this since April, and I had absolutely no idea. Chris and I were walking through Vail Village and he asked a woman to take a picture of us. It turns out, this woman was a photographer he hired, and he got down on one knee for the picture. I was so surprised that I barely noticed my whole family was a few steps away from us. Chris knew I was upset about missing Christmas with my family for the first time, so he had coordinated with them to fly to Colorado for the proposal.
3. How did you start planning your wedding? What were the first steps?
I started planning with my mom and sister. The first steps were choosing a date and venue. Choosing a date was easy for us. I knew I wanted a fall wedding, but we are big football fans, so we picked one of two weekends that our team was not playing.
We are both Catholic, so I knew the wedding would be in a Catholic Church. There is a beautiful Cathedral style church in my hometown called St. Edwards, and I eventually decided on that one. I have a really big family, so I needed a reception venue with a high capacity that was still beautiful, so we chose The Country Club of Little Rock, right by my parents house.
4. Did you do any beauty or fitness prep for your big day?
As far as beauty goes, I did not change my regimen too much! I did order clip in extensions to make my hair look fuller. I got a hydrafacial the week of the wedding, as well as a spray tan. For fitness, I googled wedding workout programs, and found a program called, “Sweating for the Wedding,” that mainly consisted of arm/leg/cardio workouts at my gym 3x/week. I absolutely hate all cardio, except for cycling/spin, so that was a life saver!
5. What was your wedding theme?
I truly did not know how to answer this question when my wedding planner asked me, but when I described my style and ideas to my florist, he said that my wedding would be “classy bohemian.” 😂Basically, my venues and ceremony were very traditional, but my floral, decor, and dress were more bohemian. My colors were silvery sage, dusty rose, and metallics.
6. How did you choose your location?
I picked the Church solely off of its beauty. I picked the Country Club as a reception venue due to capacity size and style- it was recently renovated and less traditional looking than other clubs in the area.
7. How did you find your perfect dress?
I went to two bridal boutiques in Austin, Texas with my mother, sister, and a few friends/bridesmaids. I liked the first dress I tried on a the first boutique, but I didn’t feel that excitement everyone seems to feel on the wedding shows! I decided to try another boutique, Serendipity. At Serendipity, the bridal consultant was amazing and and asked me so many specific questions to find the perfect dress. My friends showed me a Yaniv Persy dress, and as soon as I put it on, I knew it was the dress for me. I felt the magic! Everyone else knew, too. The consultant then paired the dress with a dramatic cathedral style veil that had floral that almost matched the dress perfectly–even though it was a different brand. It was the best feeling ever to find my dream dress and veil!

8. How was your experience with the Yaniv Persy brand?
My experience with the brand was fantastic! The dress is absolutely stunning, and I got so many compliments on it, but honestly my favorite part was how low maintenance the dress was, even though it is so intricate and detailed! It was comfortable, easy to move around in, and easy to alter. I had to fly home with the dress for my bridal portraits, and the only option was to put the dress in my carry on suitcase. It fit perfectly, and the material did not even wrinkle! We thought we would have to steam it, but it was perfect and ready to go. The Yaniv Persy brand Instagram account has also been very personable with me and posted some of my bridal portraits. It was an honor to be a Yaniv Persy bride and I recommend his designs to all brides

How did you meet your husband?

Steven and I both worked in the same office building and passed by each other many times before we “officially” met at a friends birthday party. We hit it off and the night ended with a pizza and a soda with two straws… the rest was history.

Tell us a bit about your relationship: We are a team. We both believe that is a big foundation to have in any relationship. We make each other laugh daily and put each other first.

How did he propose?

Steven and I traveled to London for a week in April with friends. In the middle of the week, he planned a surprise trip to Paris for a night. We left early on the train in the morning and toured the city all day. At night, we had a picnic under the Eiffel Tower in the Trocadero Gardens. Before it started to rain, Steven proposed on one knee as the Eiffel Tower sparkled. It was beautiful.

How did you start planning your wedding? What were the first steps?
We started by choosing a location, venue and date. Once we decided on Washington Square Park, Charleston SC for the ceremony and Rue de Jean for the reception, we chose November 22 as our wedding date and the rest fell into place

Did you do any beauty or fitness prep for your big day?
I kept my beauty regimen the same, making sure i washed my face and moisturized twice a day! I work out on a regular basis but I started classes at F45 in late June. I worked out there at least 5 days every week through October. It is my favorite workout!

What was your wedding theme?
I wouldn’t say we had a specific theme for the wedding. We made sure to make our wedding day decisions on what we truly wanted. We definitely prioritized and it was perfect! ( My dress was a main priority 🙂 )

How did you choose your location?

We live in Charlotte, NC and both have been to Charleston, SC more than a few times. It is a quick 3 hour drive from us. Charleston is beautiful and there is so much to do there, we knew it would be a fun place for our guests. We knew November was a risk for weather but more times than not it is perfect that time of year. We wanted to get married outside and based on the number of guests and outside options around town, we decided on Washington Square Park. You can’t go wrong with an outside location in Charleston. The city is gorgeous and there are so many great places for pictures!

How did you find your perfect dress?
I went to visit my sister in NJ in June, shortly after our engagement. With only about 6 months to our wedding, I knew i had to order a dress soon! I flew up on a Saturday and had an appointment at Jaehee Bridal in NJ and two more boutiques in NYC that same day. I was still unsure of which dress to pick as i headed to the airport to fly back to Charlotte on Sunday. My flight was cancelled that afternoon and I was unable to fly out until late the next day. To make use of my time, I booked a second appointment at Jaehee Bridal to make sure i was happy with my potential decision. As I was trying on dresses, my sister pulled the gorgeous Sophia gown as my last dress to try on. As soon as i put it on, i knew it was the one. It was unlike any other dress i tried on and it was absolutely beautiful.

How was your experience with the Yaniv Persy brand?
Perfect. I love my dress!!! We placed an order for the dress in June and it arrived in September with plenty of time for alterations. I received countless compliments on my dress, everyone thought it was gorgeous. i highly recommend Yaniv Persy to every bride to be 🙂

The Jasmine Dress from Lavish By Persy Is A Work Of Art

In August 2018, I started the search for my dream dress. I always envisioned myself in a Galia Lahav or Berta dress. I was definitely looking for a lavish dress with ornate detail. At this point I was I was unaware of the brand Yaniv Persy. I wasn’t sure if I was going to find what I was looking for considering the fact that I live in Edmonton and the price point of those dresses is quite high.

My first Bridal appointment was at The Bridal Boutique in Edmonton. As soon as I walked into the Bridal Boutique I saw the rack with the LAVISH by Persy dresses. My Bridal Consultant immediately realized that I was looking for a ‘couture’ looking dress. She explained to me that the designer of Persy used to be on the design team Dior and Galliano and he decided to go out on his own. She also told me that it was my lucky day since it was the last day of the Persy Trunk Show. I told her I wanted to try on the Jasmine and Sophia dresses. Since it was my first time trying on Bridal gowns, the consultant pulled six other dresses at various price points and by various other designers. I decided to start with my least favourite. After trying on the first six dresses, I wasn’t getting the ‘Bridal Feels’ that everyone talks about. I was so excited to try on dress number seven – the Jasmine Dress by Yaniv Persy . As soon as I put her on, I just knew this was the one. My body language changed and I started to cry. I didn’t even get a chance to try on the Sophia Dress because I was already so in love with the Jasmine.

Yanvin Persy delivered everything I was promised. The dress arrived in Edmonton from Israel exactly 6 months after the day of purchase. When I saw her for the first time she took my breath away, just like she did when I first saw her. I didn’t think it was possible, but my dress was even more beautiful than the sample I fell in love with six months earlier.

Fast forward to my wedding day – I felt so Beautiful and Angelic. I am so grateful Yanvin Persy came up with a way to make affordable couture, which is, in my opinion, is even more beautiful and lavish than Galia Lahav and Berta Bridal! The Jasmine Dress from Lavish By Persy is a work of art.
